2009, was a year of mad intensities. The sunglasses became more famous than Kanye’s notorious speech  and the bold and daring could be seen not only in the tabloids and blogs but of the front rows at the major fashion weeks. Bryan Boy, Rihanna, the models of the year and the infamous Lady Gaga all showed us a thing or two about daring visuals. Boldness was a steady theme. Here is a rundown of noted sunglasses of 2009, how fierce will your fierce be in 2010?

MartinMargiela

Fashion bloggers went crazy for the Maison Martin Margiela L’Incognito’s (above) this year, worn by the likes of Amber Rose, the L’Incognito’s are the perfect “terminator” element for a diva’s accessory wall with it’s sleek curve and gloss finish. Not the easiest of shades to pull off, but when an outfit is co-ordinated around the theme? Tres bold darlings, tres bold.

Second are the A-Morir Sioux Lace ($210.00), made a hit by Rihanna this year, they have a feminine fierceness that touches on the rocker edge. Again, not an everyday pair sort but more of a statement piece.

The Louis Vuitton Millionaire ($1500 – $2000) shades do all the talking necessary, from its gold flat top lines to the gold frame clasps on both sides. These glasses scream four words: “I AM THE BOSS.” Confidence is key when rocking a pair of these bad boys.

Most notably on Bryan Boy, the Marc Jacobs “Mask” sunglasses are most definitely for the bold of the bold. The flat masked frame with the transparent pink or blue is definitely quite a stretch for the anti-Lady Gagas of this world. But they are truly a fun pair. A simple conceptualized version of fierceness.
